Here the logic is, all the visitors IP is stored so the counter does not go up if same visitor checks the page. May be it is the reason that most visitors are not recorded after first visit.

It goes against the general purpose of the plugin.
The plugin gathers the IP address of visitors, if a number can be added to the total number then anyone can setup a number that best suits their need.There is a work around, but you need to be able to change the code in the file rather than by using widget.
