MSLS is a valid solution for multilingual websites if you prefer a multisite with different languages in separate sites.

I’m testing a solution whitout any active rewriting in this part of the plugin but settings in the options-panel. There were a lot of changes in the WordPress core regarding this things too. In the meantime a work-a-round is always a filter as I described above.
The next WordPress version will probably be published in a week and therefore I will wait at least for this for the new version of MSLS.

Please send also the screenshot of the other blog/site.
