In reply to: can't auto upgrade from 2.8.2 to 3.0.1 — please helpI do have phpmyadmin. I checked to make sure the site admin ID was the same as my admin ID, and they are the same. I don’t see anything that would blatantly be causing the problem.

In reply to: can't auto upgrade from 2.8.2 to 3.0.1 — please helpI found the capabilities, and everything was as it should have been. Ended up just going in and changing my password in the database and finally got in that way.
All of the other logins worked. All the admin permissions seemed to be in place, but the password kept coming back as invalid. It was really strange.
Fingers crossed, I seem to have things back in line now.
Thank you all for your help! I would have never thought to go digging in that database without your suggestions.
