In reply to: [Tabby Responsive Tabs] Feature request – callback functionThanks, I’ve replied via your contact page.
It eventually sorted itself out without me doing anything. The log showed the next two scheduled scans starting but with with no activity nor any message about them ending. Then after a couple of days it ran a full scan to completion as normal.
Thanks for the reply.
I’ll wait for 6,1,5 and in the meantime just leave those two URL’s disabled.
The problem is that although the scan summary section near the top of the screen reported that problems had been found comparing plugins against the originals nothing was listed in the new issues section at the bottom of the screen so I don’t have any files to compare.
There are a few plugin files which I’ve customised myself but after an earlier scan I’d marked them to be ignored. They are listed under the ignored issues tab – is it possible that these are what’s triggering the message in the summary section?
I’ve been doing a bit more hunting around for suspect files after Wordfence cleaned the malware and have found 3 more alien files in /wp-includes and /wp-admin which I would have expected to have been detected in the scan. The files don’t exist in the official WordPress directory structure and have contents very similar to the infected files which Wordfence deleted in an earlier scan. I’ve kept copies of these files in case you’re interested in investigating why they weren’t detected.

In reply to: Suspected hack attempt on my siteThanks for the links. After reading through the guide I tried a few different scanner plugins and settled for Wordfence which identified and repaired the infected files.
I’ve since checked a selection of the offending URL’s with Google search console and they all show as not found so it looks as though everything’s OK now.
I’ve applied some of the recommended security measures and will add some more in stages – I prefer not to change too many things at once.
I’ve followed the suggestions in the documentation you mentioned but still have the problem.
I’ve confirmed that here’s no problem with any PHP session related issue.
To confirm there’s no conflict with other plugins I’ve temporarily disabled all plugins apart from the shopping cart and switched from our custom theme to unmodified Twenty Sixteen but still have the problem.
The WordPress Address URL and Site Address URL are both the same in my WordPress settings.
My problem is the opposite of that described in the above documentation. In my case items stay in the cart and are still there when I revisit the cart page. The problem is that if I stay on a page with a “Add to cart” button and let the browser refresh the page (with CTRL+R or F5) after adding the item then an extra item is added to the cart. It only happens if I refresh the page after adding an item, it doesn’t happen if I re-enter the URL in the browser address bar instead of refreshing or if I navigate away and back to the page.
I’m using Firefox 45.0 but I don’t think it’s a browser specific issue because I see the same problem with Chrome.

Yes, I’ve just tried that and get exactly the same effect.
I suspect the safest thing will be to upload the images again and update the links on the pages.
The affected images all appear to be ones that were taken from an earlier (Non WordPress) version of our site and imported via a custom PHP script so it could be possible that some database fields might not be correctly set up. Though I think the problem appeared sometime after this was done. I remember that we hit our limit on number of compressions in the month it was done so many of them must have been compressed at the time despite the media library page now saying otherwise. I don’t remember seeing any error messages at the time but this was over 6 months ago so I can’t be 100% sure.
The images are all on the local filesystem, we’re not using Amazon S3 and the filenames use standard English characters.
Very odd things happen if I attempt to reprocess an image.
- Click on a thumbnail in the media library and the usual page comes up with the image and text fields.
- Click on “Edit image, then “Flip horizontally” and “Save” – the image vanishes from the edit page
- Go back to the media library and refresh. The text details for the image are still there but no thumbnail.
- Click on the blank space where the image should be (or on “Edit”) and the Edit page comes up with the text fields but no image. Then click on “Edit image and the flipped image comes up.
- Go back to the media library and refresh, still have the error message and no thumbnail
- Edit the image again and click “Restore image”. The thumbnail for the original unflipped image is back but still the same error message
During all these operations the file in the uploads directory is unchanged. I’ve checked that the uploads directory is writeable by the web server.
Yes, they’re all there in the right places and visible on the website.
I’m happy to do some digging around in the database for records which don’t match if you let me know what to search for.

In reply to: [Adminimize] No admin colour scheme section in user profile settingsI’ve just noticed a problem with 1.10.1-alpha. Installing it deleted all it’s settings. I hadn’t noticed this at first because I’d already been messing about with deleting all settings when trying to fix the issue with 1.10.0 but I’ve just tried it out on another site.
I deleted 1.10.0, making sure that I did not use the Uninstall option on the settings page of Adminimize. Then I installed 1.10.1-alpha but all the settings were lost. No real problem in this case because it’s only a test site.
I don’t know if this would happen if I’d been able to upgrade instead of uninstall and reinstall.

In reply to: [Adminimize] No admin colour scheme section in user profile settingsThanks Frank, I’ve downoaded it from github and it cures the problem.
Having just got back home after a few days away I’ve upgraded to v6.0.4.1 and can confirm that it does trigger an update email for me if an existing subscriber completes the form and “Update Existing Subscriber” is set to “Yes”.
I was however just about to remark that the “It looks like you’re already subscribed” and “Update email successfully sent” response texts might be rather confusing to some users. Then I saw that v6.0.4.2 was available and upgraded to that. The new response texts are less confusing now.
But I was wondering if we really need both response texts. When an existing subscriber is detected would it be better to just send the email without asking them to click the link? The response text could then say something like “It looks like you’re already subscribed to this list. We have sent you an email which will enable you to securely update your preferences“. This would be a similar behaviour to that for a new user and would provide the user with a convenient reminder of his preferences. If the user didn’t want to make any changes he could just ignore the email/
Thanks Evan.
I’ll look forward to the next release. I’m currently using a standard MailChimp embedded form which is far from ideal and this problem with updating existing subscribers is the only thing holding me back from switching to your plugin.
