Hi,
I spent quite a bit of time with custom SQL conversion scripts that I found through Google searches. That got me to an advanced stage but I was stumped with the Drupal forums conversion since I was using bbPress and this plugin uses its own content types.
I scoured the net for conversion of these and, in the end, opted to use http://www.gconvertor.com services. They were certainly the cheapest and I found them very informative and useful. You don’t pay until you’re happy as well which is a big plus.
I should have used these guys for the entire process, in hindsight 🙂

Duh, I had a silly plugin called ‘Root Relative URLs’ activated when I was moving my site from a local server to live.
Turns out this was the culprit. Kudos for the cool plugins you’re providing to the WP community, Joost.
