Actually adding
$redirect_to = apply_filters( 'login_redirect', $redirect_to );
after line 586 in inc\frontend\login.check.php would have been better since $redirect_to is more commonly used in wordpress core.
Yup I just confirmed this can be reproduced by the same way.
I received empty user notification again with the latest update, tho I’m not sure if it’s triggered by the same bug.
