Me too. How strange to miss out one of the biggest. Also Twitter.
Ok i managed to do it.
Go into appearance then Editor.
Then under templates on the right go to ( Sidebar )
Just delete all the data there and update. they will be removed and leave no Gray boxes.
I am having the same problem. Anyone know of nay solutions?
