Forum: Installing WordPress
In reply to: Nice design but a few bugsI will make this an update for my next tweaking of the theme this week… thanks for the heads up on this! Plus I see WP 2.8 is released now so time for me to make sure this theme works in 2.8 and also will test the pro version as well.

In reply to: Problem in Login and LogoutThanks for the comment… as for the login log out issue, it appears many other users of wordpress are experiencing this problem and generally it’s not the fault of the theme, it’s something about the newer version of wordpress. Likewise, others are experiencing a pure white screen in the admin area from time to time and this seems to also be a common issue. I would do a Google search with this keyword phrase “cannot log out wordpress” (without the quotes) and see all the results that show up. Perhaps one of them will provide a solution as it appears it’s the result of different things and not necessarily the theme.
Anyway, side note… I am still doing more fine tuning to this first theme and will be uploading version 1.7 on Sunday but the wordpress moderator probably won’t approve it until Monday (they take weekends off I think).

In reply to: More White screen adminok, I spoke too soon. It’s doing it again.
I think its time WordPress gets to the bottom of this. A friend told me this:
————-
So, what I’ve seen so far in the admin, and this caused a “white page”
off and on – In the Dashboard scroll down to “Other WordPress News” the feed is buggy and is not rendering characters correctly (not sure why), and in the forum others are having issues with this feed.
————-He changed the feed and he said that seems to work “most of the time” but overall guys, its a problem that needs to be addressed.

In reply to: More White screen adminOk…. solved (this time around). I went into phpmyadmin and changed the theme to default and now its all back to normal so I went back to my theme. But it looks like the white screen issue is happening with others so hopefully wordpress will solve this one.
oh… I meant to say that for the call up of the get_search_form part, I used the exact code from wordpress’s own default theme and have not changed anything for that snippet of code.
Hmm…Interesting you got that fatal error. That might be a wordpress issue because I just tested the search form in the sidebar on my theme site as well had a couple others test theirs out and everyone was able to get search results. Try again and see if it still does it? Does the other Search field at the top right area of the theme pages function for you? You can enter in a keyword and just press your enter key for the results.
Quick Note: I just uploaded a new revised theme and it’s waiting test and approval which has some adjustments and one major change. I strengthened the columns by removing the jquery method and used a table.
Thanks for the feedback… I will keep doing regular revisions to this theme as it’s the first one to be released and I am also working on a Pro version as well.
Hi Grooby…thanks for the comment. I am guessing you are referring to ie6? I am actually working on the next version (currently at 1.2) which will utilize png’s better but I won’t be supporting ie6 as this is a diminishing market (finally) and a decade old browser. A first theme for wordpress from me, so this is a good testing ground…thanks for the feedback.
