I have been reminded that when troubleshooting a problem, often times simple fixes are often hurried. At first when you said
"Or perhaps your fresh copy wasn't all that fresh?"I thought to myself, “well yah”, and moved on to other issues. So I wasted another 30 minutes.
Ultimately I found that I was uploading an edited copy of formatting.php when I thought it was untouched. I fixed the problem by redownloading wordpress, and replacing the whole “includes” folder.
Voila!

In reply to: Problems with inserting picturesI found a work-around. I am needing to manually enter the img path into the code. When I enter the path into the image option, it doesn’t save, it only saves the img dimensions, like you see in the code above.

AND, I am unable to delete any of the plugin folders, or even the Plugins folder from my server now. When I try I get an error saying I do not have the permissions. Wow, I am stupified.

In reply to: I need plugins1st – Install the plugin called “Plugin Installer”. I swear by it. It makes uploading and installing plugins even easier than it was without it.
2nd – Install every plugin that catches your eye. I have probably installed 60 plugins. Then disable them all. One by one enable them and configure them to see if they do you any good. Also, by doing it this if something goes wrong, you will know which plugin caused “bad stuff” to happen and can just deactivate it.
Or, what do you mean by “good”?
