not sure where your at in the process. but assuming you’ve already configured your network for multi site, to map, you park the domain you want mapped onto the main site. then use the domain mapping plugin to map the domain within wordpress. if this doesnt help, try including some more details with your question. OR for a quicker solution to your prob, just follow instructions here here

ugh!! ok i figured it out, i feel so stupid,, hopefully this helps other beginners, from the very first cry for help everything had been done correctly.(install and configuration wise)
but i had the original business’s site still uploaded in the root as well which when i installed wordpress, the designquoter.com business site index.html was loading first instead of the correct blog. i deleted that site index.html and voila it allowed index.php to load correctly for both blogs. ugh.. sorry for the headache, like i said, hope it help another newb, thanks for everything andrea

    – now WordPress looks up the domain in the database and serves the right blog in my browser.

ok that is where my problem is.. any common reasons for it not to load the right blog? could it be a domain mapping install prob? i tried reinstalling wordpress and domain mapping and getting the same result.. could going the sub.domain route instead of subdirectory make a diff?
well thanks for all you help so far please let me know if you have any suggestions.

i guess my question is, after the domain mapping is all done, should domain2.com when visited, load domain1.com contents OR should it load domain1.com/subsite contents

and which one should i set to primary in domain mapping?

sorry this is just really frustrating

wow thanks for the tip, i didn’t realize that, will do, i did use the tutorial to install,

and for me to clarify, not meaning sub directory, (there’s no sub d. folder on the server) i meant index.php of the the newly created site, my question was, when all done correctly, is the registered domain supposed to lead directly to the blog or index.php of the new site? because currently it leads to my main sites home page

    Thread Starter David

    (@prodesign)

?? I’m lost, so to clarify, is it supposed to happen and it doesn’t, or, is what is happening supposed to happen?

my new domain.com pointed at my servers, parked on site after mapped should when typed in address bar, go directly to the index.php of the sub directory right?

if so any ideas on why it doesn’t?

    Primary
    * http://freecreditreportandrepair.com
    http://designquoter.com/freecreditreportandrepair

if i set http://designquoter.com/freecreditreportandrepair as primary i am able to view the home page of the blog. other wise i can’t find it.. it only displays my main site’s public_html

first, thank you so much for the reply andrea,
i’ve come a little since the initial post last night,
here is the problem i am having, i’ve parked the domain
    freecreditreportandrepair.com
    on the vps main:
    designquoter.com
and mapped it in my super admin,
however i cannot figure out how to get freecreditreportandrepair.com to redirect to the blog, it now just goes directly to the main
designquoter.com ?? i cant tell where the problem is? any ideas?

    Thread Starter David

    (@prodesign)

… added spaces between each line of the code to create super admin just to try, and it worked some how.. i didn’t see any info anywhere that backs up that fix but that’s what happened. thanks for the help!!

followed instructions under How do I solve the Headers already sent warning problem?

    still getting the same errors..
there doesn’t appear to be any whitespace on line :1 of my wp-config.php file or at the end. i also have not edited/modified anything from original download other then adding install lines for network.
wp-config.php begins with <?php and ends with ?> with no white space

could there be any other reasons for these errors?
