Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: I politely asked for help, now I’m begging ….PLEASEEEThanks brainycat and MichealH. I reloaded it all onto another computer (third one) and it’s getting better but now I have this to contend with … Here is a list of my pages and what they have got (or not)
About Us – got Permalink, but no child page option (just says ‘Parent’)
Sales Letter – no permalink, got child pages
Products,Whitelisting, Home Page, Contact Us, Privacy and Terms of Use pages all have Permalink and Child Page option BUT … (what for this) … in the attributes section under ‘Parent’ is the drop down for only 2 options. Those being ‘Main Page (no parent)’, and ‘About Us’.Also, on the ‘Edit Pages’, all are listed as Private (which is correct becasue I am still working on them), but the ‘About Us’ has not status at all, it’s blank … Why is it that it is the only one listed in the Child Pages as an option?
Is there something in the Publishing area of each page that I have neglected to change, or is it the sequence I ‘add a page’ ?
I’m still mystified. Your help is still needed and greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your time.
Have a great day 🙂

In reply to: I politely asked for help, now I’m begging ….PLEASEEEHello brainycat
Thank you for your reply.
I’m running wordpress 2.7 on IE7 which is about as standard as you can get 🙂
It is the only UI that’s broken.
Yes I have disabled all plugins (5 most basic and popular essentials), and reactivated them individually to try and isolate the culprit.I haven’t exported db to another host though. I’m with Hostgator which is about as standard as you can get too.
I don’t use the categories as I am not using the site as a blog at this stage. However, I stall go now and crank it up momentarily to see if its linking.
Hey, … thanks for your help brainycat. I’ll let ya know how I go.
You have agreat day!

Forum: Themes and Templates
In reply to: Dropping Parent Attributes Ability Once A WeekMore information: It doesn’t matter how many themes I chnage to, … the attributes keep disappearing. It’s a ‘wordpress thing’ I think. I’ve tried downloading it again with no positive results.
Thank you.
Very much appreciated.
You have a great day.
Tracey 🙂Hi MichaelH
I scrapped everything and started again.
Guess what? …. It Worked!!!!!!!
(happy, happy, joy, joy, joy)Thank you!
Can I ask you another quick question?
I am using the iBlog theme and at the top (after the blog name), when I look the address up on IE, there is ‘Just another WordPress weblog’.
How do I get rid of that sentence?Cheers
Happy Tracey 🙂
Deactivated everything. No change.
Changed theme from Daisy Gray to iBlog and back …. still got the problem. 🙁
Thanks for replying MichaelH.
Yes I do have other pages (x5) and I now wish to turn one of them into a child page.
Can I just clarify something ….
I am in ‘Edit page’.
I’m on the right hand side under ‘Attributes’, and under that is
Parent, Template, and Order. If I am in the right place. I can’t do what you have done. I have clicked all over the place. 🙂
TraceyThank you for your reply MichaelH
Yes, I understand that. However when I have the page open to be edited, … I look down the right hand side at my ‘attributes’ so I can hover over the drop down to change it to ‘whatever I want to child it to’ …. and it’s not there. The actual drop down menu for allocating the page as a child to another is not there.
Thanks Tracey
