At the beginning i tried some single column themes, which give more attention to the pictures, like Kradio says. But I found that I missed an extra column for things that I want to have, like some thumbnails, categories, a little welcome text, etc. I believe that those help navigation a bit.
About the sidebar, if I change the colors to make the site look less ‘for kids’, as I was saying, I will also keep an eye on readability.
The way it is now, if I make the background lighter, only the darker text will benefit from it, but I also have some white text…

I didn’t think about automatic translation. It may be a good idea for my site. I will have a look at how Global Translator plugin works.
Also thanks for the opinion on the color scheme. Now that Krembo99 mentioned it, I find it’s true: the colors I used may actually suggest something dedicated to kids. I did not realize that before, though. I will think about some changes.
Talking about the picture format, I like to be able to crop pictures the way I like them better. That’s something that an uniform format wouldn’t allow me to do.
