    Hello Sheriziya

    Thanks for your answer !

As I DO mind, I looked desperately in some other forums dedicated to the theme Twenty Seventeen and came across an incredible guy who solved 5 problems in a row related to customization of this theme in a few minutes !

    Thanks anyway for replying.

    Regards

    Hello Sheriziya,

Sorry for your computer ! 🙁

I eventually dared to paste it just after I posted the question in the CSS panel and it worked !
I thought it had to be pasted in a specific file, because I already had to that for a specific theme !
    Thanks anyway for your answer!

May I abuse your kindness and ask you if there’s a way to reduce the space before and after the text section for Twenty Seventeen pages ?
For many theme this space is quite reasonable but here I find it huge, unsightly and useless!

Thanks again for sharing your knowledge,

    Regards,

    Philippe

    Hello Sheriziya

Great, I was just looking for a solution to solve this problem too !

But as I’m not a developper or a pro of the CSS code, even though, due to some finetuning and some modifications required by the readers of our web site, I feel now quite comfortable with all the the files and their location.

However, I don’t know which file should be modified to paste the code you offered ?

Is that the style.css (I guess it’s as this is the most obvious to me !?) file and where exactly should I insert or modify the original code ?

I’ve searched the style.css file with keywords but there’re many occurrences and I don’t want to break everything up !

Thanks so much for your kind help !

    Regards,

    Philippe

    Hello,

Problem 2 solved : this was a wrong setting in Appearance, Static homepage section, where homepage was set on “first article” instead of “homepage”.

Now when I click on the site-nav brand I get the homepage for both languages, and the blog articles for each language blog entries in the menu !

    Youppi !

    Regards,

    Philippe

    Hello,

Solution for problem number 1 : this is a specific setting required by Polylang more especially when using random display of images in the header !
Management of media translation must be disabled, and indeed, it makes the trick !

Problem number 2 is still unsolved…

    Hi Chouby,

    Thanks for your answer.

However, either I don’t undestand your explanation, or this is simply fobidden at the moment by the theme.

I’ve taken a look again at the “Menu” section in the Appearance settings, but I can select the position for the “Superior menu” in English and French as well as for “Social Networks” menus, but I can’t change anything else that could help, and even this doesn’t allow me to set language selector so that it can be viewed !

In the “Superior menu” section where I can position and reorder the shortlinks to my pages, I can’t change anything else nor add a widget or the language selector !

I can only add a new element, reorder or delete something !

I can see in the menu displayed by clicking on the cogwheel icon in the “Personnalize Menu” section an option called “Blocks” and “List of languages” which is ticked.
Is that an option added by Polylang ?

I’ve even installed the new “Advanced twenty seventeen” extension, but even with all these new options nothing can help me either !

That’s really too bad because everything else seems to be working except this goddam language selector that is nowhere to be found : 🙁

Any other idea would be appreciated, don’t tell me that I can’t use it with Twenty Seventeen !?

    Kind regards,

    Philippe.

    Hello,

Same thing on my site, I changed the content, it remains in the box, I save the operation, but the site keeps displaying the default “produly powered by WordPress (in French for me)…

When I try to click on the wysywyg section of the adanced footer and Custom Copyright I only get a “forbidden sign” so no modification is possible…

    Kind regards,

    Philippe
