You can safely ignore this issue, really. Your favicon will be displayed correctly, all the time.

Some hosting providers serve an empty file when asked for
/favicon.ico. This is because this URL is a old convention, and providers sometimes feel safer to return something instead of the classic 404. Fortunately, browsers are not tricked by this behavior and request the favicon declared in the HTML (… for example, the favicon generated by RealFaviconGenerator).
