The only problem I can see with this is that when someone taps on the screen to scroll the page it will inadvertently close the menu, which would not be a good thing?

I have just gone back from a long, well deserved holiday!
Unfortunately this currently uses Hex values and not rgb, which doesn’t support the alpha option.
You could however overwrite the styles yourself in a custom stylesheet using the rgba CSS values you require without any issues.
