That’s what I did – deleted everything, and reinstalled – which I probably should have done before I posted.

    Funky – thank you.

Gee, Marc, it’s never been a problem before. I have a lot of posts that I keep under my hat to registered users only.

Like I said, it’s never been a problem before.

Excuse me for airing something I found interesting, since I didn’t see it posted anywhere on this forum.

Next time, I’ll just keep it to myself.

Well then I must be moving up in the world because it’s never happened to me. I even did a quick search on Google and no one talks about it – the dirty secret to those of us only blogging for 3 years.

Comment spam I used toget by the bucketful – 300 in a single day once. Spam Karma killed that.

    But this… wow.

    Yes I did. Email sent.

I will now, without hesitation bear your children, erect statues in your honor, and line up virgins from all four corners of the world.

Of all the sneaky, little… and here I was looking for something at stood out of place. The original author still has it on his own style sheet, which isn’t a problem as long as you use IE.

Thank you Beel. You are a Member among members.

Okay – I validated my page – everything validates.

Why won’t the links work on the comment page.

    Thanks.

So we’re looking at a bad coding issue that for once, isn’t my fault. Damn. Learning XHTML wasn’t what I had planned tonight.

If I find the mistake (and there are tons of them) I’ll post it, maybe save someone else several hours of recoding.

    Thanks Beel.

Fine – I will start a new topic so you won’t help me over there either.

I may have mistated my original question, but the problem remains – comments can not be posted from FireFox with the SlatyStained theme.

I wasn’t hijacking the thread so much as I was echoing another’s (GeeGee’s) issues with a stated theme(Slaty).

Really, If you’re not going to help me, then don’t post. It’s not helpful.

You’ll notice it’s not the same problem,, but I wouldn’t have known that if they’d posted the resolution in the first place.

So (rightly so) I’m still complaining.

I fixed the parse error – something needed to be commented out, and I took care of it. So that page is now fine except for the fact that no one using FF can post.

You can however post comments using IE. All of the Links work in IE and you can comment – but not in FF. It is not the “Template_Tags/the_excerpt” tag. I still cannot comment on single pages. I can comment on single pages with my other themes. and they have the “Template_Tags/the_excerpt” in the Archive.php.

    What else?

GeeGee – this is also a great thgeme if yoyu don’t want people commenting on your site using FireFox.

I can’t get any of the links to work on an archived page and no one (especially the creator) seems to know how to make it work.

Thank you. Perhaps it *has* been asked 1,000 times, but when I queried for this search, this was only one of 8 hits, and as it turns out, not what I’m looking for – which is why it’s important to state what answer has been found.

    Sarcasm isn’t helpful.

PMan – We have the same template and I have the same problem. All links on the container portion are disabled. The side bar links work fine, but I understand why I’m not getting comments from people now, especially if they’re using FF.

    Is anyone out there?

Maybe you culd post what you found so when some of us go looking for an answer we’re not completely disappointed?

It did – thanks. I ended up deleteing all WP and cookies from my site, refreshed and it works.
