In reply to: [Favicon by RealFaviconGenerator] Feature Request: Add to customizer?Hi phbernard, I’ve been using your RealFaviconGenerator plugin for a while now and it’s been great. In your opinion do you think it’s better than using WordPress’s own “Site Icon” solution? Thanks.
Thanks very much for the detailed instructions I’ll give it a try.
I’m not really sure how I would test this, any ideas?
Hi there. Would disabling XML-RPC stop the Update Services (in Settings > Writing) from working too?
Hi Richard thanks for the prompt reply. I’m not desperate for this so don’t worry it was just something I’d like to use but I can wait.
No I’m not a developer as such but I’m comfortable with adding code into my functions.php file so that would be fine by me.
Thanks for your help and could you let me know on here once you’ve implemented it?
Thanks again.

Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: How to make an image link to "large" image instead of full size? Thanks deepbevel that will do just nicely. In a perfect world I would like to keep a high resolution image in case this is needed in the future, but for now this is a great option, cheers.

In reply to: How to make an image link to "large" image instead of full size? Thanks for the reply deepbevel. Yes I suppose that is an option but currently I am using fancybox to display my enlarged images. The problem is that my clients are uploading images directly from their 12 mega pixel cameras into WordPress so when they link to the enlarged image it can be 3MB or above for each photo which is unacceptable for the end user.
Forum: Themes and Templates
In reply to: Upgrading wordpress default themesAhh right so in general if it’s not broken just leave it. I have a default basic child theme I always start off with when creating a client website so I will probably just keep that up to date. Thanks for the info.

In reply to: Upgrading wordpress default themesHi esmi – There isn’t a problem yet (that I know of) I just figured that if WordPress decided a change needed to be made to their default theme that maybe it was something I needed to do for my client websites too. For example what if a function was added/edited/deleted in functions.php and was then called/not called in my child theme surely this may break things? Hope this makes sense. Thanks

In reply to: [W3 Total Cache] Manually adding CSS and JS to Minify@sulistyo – Thanks for the tutorial that helped a lot.
@bheadrick – Yeah thanks this worked for me. I was including the ?ver=1.7.2 at the end and was receiving the following prompt.
“We recommend using the entire URI for files with query string (GET) variables.”
Without including the ?ver=1.7.2 I don’t get the prompt so thanks.
