I am really new to all this. Trying to remove Lorem Ipsum and the Latest Courses. Also like to add text before the main image.

Customize -> General -> Structure
Here you find “Custom Footer Text”, that is used for that footer text.
part of your instructions. In other words, I do not see General or STructure at all.
