In reply to: To blog or not to blogThanks for your comments MelStan. It looks like a toss-up between BlueHost and GoDaddy at the moment. With your experience of BlueHost, do they have any restrictions on things like AdSense or plug-ins and other such things?

In reply to: Premature end of script headersJust to let you know macmanx, PlusNet were a little reluctant to get involved but after I’d explained all the options I’d been through and that left them as the prime culprit, they had a look at their config and realized the permissions were wrong!
So, a major result and my website is back up and running. Yay!

In reply to: WP3 Killed My WebSiteIpstenu was right, my host had locked everything down and messed up all the permissions, apparently. I’m back on line and running v3.0! Woo hoo!
Installation took less than a minute. Gotta love WordPress.

It looks like .org on a hosted service is the way to go as I have AdSense and other Affiliate accounts. I do like the idea of the .COM approach for a personal-type blog though … (hmm, ideas are hatching!)

The posts I’m not really bothered about as I have them in a word processor file anyway, I just want my website back up and running. It doesn’t even run the installer program now.
Yes, I really did lose the lot last time I upgraded (1.x to 2.x – might not have been to 2.9 but it was definitely a 2.something). At least when I wiped the lot that time, I could re-install. I kinda went with the same philosophy and hit the delete button. 🙁
I’m confused though, what’s the difference between a good and a crap PHP install? Isn’t PHP, erm, well, PHP? (different versions not-withstanding). Would you suggest dumping my host (PlusNet) and going with another? (I’m all for that if it means I get it running again)

In reply to: Premature end of script headersAh, I was a little headstrong I’m afraid. I went ahead and dropped all the tables and deleted everything from my website. I then tried a clean, unsullied version 3.0 and still got the same error. I then tried going back to my 2.9 and that didn’t work either.
I have raised a ticket with my provider, PlusNet and will let you know if I get a satisfactory response from them. It’s not looking good at the moment. 🙁
