We are running into similar issues. When we update past our current version, 5.8.7.1, it becomes incredibly slow.
Our WordPress Install is a bitnami VM, fully patched to latest version of WP. When we have tried this and it didn’t work, we just pulled back to a previous snapshot.
Any ideas on how to troubleshoot and solve this?
