Can you post an example subdomain? Also, have you network activated the plugin?
Only news articles published within a 48-hour period are considered, as per Google’s rules.
I’m planning to improve this feature, please follow updates here: https://github.com/OddOneOut/Better-WordPress-Google-XML-Sitemaps/issues/13
Yes, it comes from the plugin and is perfectly safe.
Updates will be made here: https://github.com/OddOneOut/Better-WordPress-Google-XML-Sitemaps/issues/16
How is your site indexed now? It’s up to Google to decide what to index, a sitemap itself doesn’t guarantee anything.
This might happen when WordPress’s rewrite rules are not properly flushed. You might want to try going to General Settings > Permalinks and press Save Changes.
On BWP Sitemaps > XML Sitemaps > Your Sitemaps there are links that you can click on to generate the sitemaps.
You should activate the plugin via Network Admin. If you’re using subdomains you will have to manually submit each sitemap I’m afraid.

You can hack the plugin’s code for now, go to line 1431 in includes/class-bwp-simple-gxs.php and change pt to pt-br.

Tag splitting is not supported at the moment unfortunately.
I agree that it is a very useful feature.

Looks like it’s working fine. As per Google’s rules, articles in a news sitemap should be at most 48-hour old, therefore if the news sitemap will be blank if you don’t have any, which could lead a 404 error from Google.
