Yes I’ve seen similar feature requests, but I’m afraid it won’t be implemented before version 2.x.

The error thrown by Google can be ignored safely IMO. Will let you know when there’s any update.

I’m working on 1.4.0 and will release a beta version of it as soon as I can. According to my tests, version 1.3.3 works fine for 4.4.2 too (4.5 is being tested).

This plugin depends on Google reCAPTCHA for spam filtering, so the continual revision is done by Google entirely. What the plugin mainly does is integrate Google reCAPTCHA with WordPress (and other plugins such as Contact Form 7).
You will still get spam occasionally due to the fact that there are real human spammers out there, and no spam protection mechanism can stop them entirely.

This plugin uses WordPress’s API to generate links to images so you should not have to filter anything. May I have a link to your sitemap?

Are you using the latest version of Contact Form 7 (4.4.x)? It could be an incompatibility issue.
