The problem is I’m running a child theme and these files are located in the parent theme. Should I copy them to the child theme?

Nevermind. Figured it out.
For future reference…Go to your pages and click on ‘Quick Edit’ > Uncheck ‘Allow Comments’ (I really don’t know why this option isn’t available in the main edit page.) Problem solved.
