In reply to: [Customizr] Pictures gone, no JetPack pluginI wrote a paragraph and changed the post status to resolved. After I clicked the Change button, my post was gone.
Anyway, thanks for your help, Menaka S.!
I tried your suggestion, and only some of the pictures showed up.
Went through a cycle of deleting, re-installing, and deactivating this plugin. Didn’t work.
Cleared the Cached in my browser. Didn’t work.
As I was having a headache, all pictures showed up. I don’t know why or how. I am happy.

In reply to: [Customizr] right side bar widget changes didn't appearPurpose of update to this thread: I forgot to add the FIRST FEW STEPS to the above instructions last time as I stayed up the night. I hope I can help others and myself next time if same problem arises.
Disclaimer: Since I have no technical knowledge and skills, I am not comfortable in visiting other similar threads and making suggestions. If another member finds this thread useful and may help others, please refer them here.
BEFORE YOU TRY THE ABOVE INSTRUCTIONS, FOLLOW THESE STEPS FIRST:
1. Go to http://kproxy.com/
2. Type your website address and hit Enter (or click Surf)
3a.) If you can see your revisions there, then clear Cached Web Content in your browser (Internet Explorer, FireFox, etc.)Open a new window and go to your live website. You should now see the changes on your live website.
3b.) If you don’t see your revisions on the Kproxy website, then continue with the steps from 3 days ago or so, beginning with Log into C-panel…
It should work now. If not, clear the Cached Web Content in your browser as well (after following step 3b. … renaming Supercache folder in your C-panel).
Hope this helps.

In reply to: [Customizr] right side bar widget changes didn't appearThe answer is:
It’s a web hosting problem. The content is still cached on the server.
1. Log into C-panel
2. Click File Manager
3. Click WP-Content folder
4. Click cache folder
5. Rename the supercache folderVoila. You’ll see the changes. Problem solved!
I can finally sleep.

In reply to: [Customizr] how to update to latest Customizr (free) versionHi rdellconsulting,
—-
The following discussion is for future reference, in the case if something doesn’t mysteriously updated Customizr for me.
—-When you mentioned click on Update , I am thinking of the Update button or something similar at the Update section of my dashboard. I have seen that happening to the WP and certain plugins but have never seen it for Customizr.
Before I started this thread, I tried to install Customizr through the dashboard. It wouldn’t let me because it said I have an existing Customizr (but it didn’t know the existing one was an older version).
Just now, I went to this page, https://wordpress.org/themes/customizr/. There is a Download button. However, there isn’t one for Update. In my humble opinion, if I click on Download or Upload later, I won’t be able to continue because I still have the older version.
Please advise if there’s something I miss.

In reply to: [Customizr] Where to add the " a href " code? Thanks, ibogo!
I read some reviews on Jetpack after seeing your reply. I am researching other plugins to replace it.
Enjoy your weekend!

In reply to: [Customizr] how to update to latest Customizr (free) versionThanks, rdellconsulting and Rocco!
I couldn’t get on the computer earlier. When I checked my blog website today, I saw the Customizr 3.3.23 version was automatically updated. Creepy!
Rdellconsulting wrote,
“Just like all the WP Themes, when an Update is ready you will be notified in Updates and it will be a one-click update.”
Up to now, I have never received any version update to Customizr. However, I’ve been receiving updates from WordPress and some plugins.
Rocco wrote,
“you don’t need to backup the current parent theme since you didn’t make any change to its files (right?). Options are saved in the db.”
No, I haven’t revised the codes. Before I knew about the child theme, I was setting up my blog (doing stuffs like Microsoft Word on WordPress or Customizr dashboard).
What does “db” stand for, Rocco?
For future reference, what you were saying is that I can delete the old Customizr theme and then download/upload the latest version. I tried to install the latest version before I started this thread of question but couldn’t because I still have the old version. Therefore, I treat installing as downloading and uploading as 1 step.
Have a wonderful weekend! 🙂

In reply to: [Customizr] original Customizr theme in WP dashboardThanks for warning me not to remove the parent theme, d4z_c0nf !
The last link you provided is full of codes that I don’t understand.
Since I haven’t manually updated the Customizr parent theme, it got automatically updated.
The second last link you provided … hee, hee … I don’t understand all, but know a little about the child theme.
* Question:
Do I need to update anything myself?
Thanks a lot, d4z_c0nf !
Have a great day. 🙂

In reply to: [Customizr] version auto updated or not & backup & missing picsThe thumbnails are showing on the front page once again. Yeah!!!
Before the version update, a thumbnail would automatically appear on the front-page post listing whenever I had an image at the beginning of my individual post.
Problem solved.
P.S. Much earlier, I did clear my cache at Settings/WP-Super-Cache as d4z_c0nf recommended.

In reply to: [Customizr] version auto updated or not & backup & missing picsThanks for your help, d4z_c0nf!
I have the drop cap appeared in all my posts now.
While I was testing this and that, I discovered the Google Font type and size function. Very useful!
The pics or thumbnails on the front page are still missing. I will check some more.
I will keep the backup and version update info in mind if I need them in the future.
