In reply to: [(Simply) Guest Author Name] Facebook Title showing Author name as TitleHi Brent,
I did just test this myself and it seems to be fixed. Here it is from our demo site: https://www.facebook.com/shooflysolutions/posts/1178512362266935
However, I do believe you. I have seen Facebook do weird things when there is a change like this. It takes a while for the change to take effect.
You can try a couple of things, try saving the post again, clearing your cache and closing your browser before sharing it again and/or wait for a few hours. Try creating another post and sharing it.
The correct version for this fix is version 3.4. Please let me know when/if this is resolved.

This sounds like a bug. We will look into it & get back to you. Thanks for letting us know!
Resolved by removing cat=””. This will no longer function in the same way due to changes in the plugin.

In reply to: [(Simply) Guest Author Name] Very good PluginThank you! You can add a photo using gravatar if the author has one but this relies on wordpress.com so adding a custom photo is a very good idea. I thought there might be a plugin to allow html in the author bio but it turns out that it’s one line of code: https://wp-mix.com/wordpress-allow-html-author-bio/. I would create a separate plugin to do that so that your changes don’t get overwritten by any updates.

In reply to: [Jetpack - WP Security, Backup, Speed, & Growth] Author urlIt’s in the email sent to subcsciber. My plugin https://wordpress.org/plugins/guest-author-name/ needs to be installed. After subscribing to the site using Jetpack,
Create a post, override the author name and details, especially the URL. When you view the post and click on the author name, it should take you to the author’s url.
Check your email. Click on the link. It does not take you to the author’s url. All of the other filters are working correctly.

In reply to: [Jetpack - WP Security, Backup, Speed, & Growth] Bug Report: JetpackAccording to users, this seemed to be fixed and working up until about a month ago. Is there some way for me to fix the author link that gets sent out in subscription emails?

In reply to: [(Simply) Guest Author Name] Problems with Archive PagesHello, I was wondering if you followed my suggestions and have any feedback for me. Were you able to duplicate this in another theme? Thanks!
Closing due to lack of activity. We determined that it was possibly an issue with wordpress.com.
I’ve been having weird things happen with the latest upgrade too.
Can you provide 1) a link to your home page and 2) your shortcode? It might be a javascript error. You might want to try our new plugin featured-image-pro also. https://wordpress.org/plugins/featured-image-pro/

In reply to: [Custom Post Type Maker] Updates for Custom Post Type MakerI just tried it and it takes over the old “version”. Thanks graffino!
I’ve tested the plugin on an archive page using Twenty Sixteen. I haven’t been able to duplicate an error 500. Error 500 can be difficult to diagnose.
I wonder if the issue might be with the gravatar. Are you using gravatars? Does the email link to an actual gravatar? Is the gravatar showing up on single posts? If not, does your host block external web traffic? Sometimes hosts block everything except for google. Make sure that it doesn’t block wordpress.com.
If not, I need a little more information. Which browser were you using? On the specific page were there more than one post by guest authors? Are any of the posts on the archive pages using plugins that use ajax? Perhaps you can email the author details at adrian@shooflysolutions.com.
This might not be worth your time, but you can try this.
There are advanced ways to diagnose these errors. If you go into the inspector, click on the network tab, and in that tab, click on xhr and then refresh the page. You should see a list of status. Find the one that says 500 to see exactly where it occurred.Let me know. Feel free to email me directly.
