Thank you for your answer. The thumbnail fetching on Facebook worked fine already from the start, but WhatsApp doesn’t show the thumbnail. Well the problem is not with WhatsApp in this case. As already mentioned: When I am deactivate the YOAST plugin then the thumbnail is being fetched on WhatsApp.
This may be a bug in YOAST, since already many other YOAST users are reporting the same issue and none of them had this issue solved. The only answer they were getting from YOAST is to contact WhatsApp and then the thread ends there or is closed by a member of the YOAST team. Other websites which are not using YOAST have their thumbnail fetched immediately on WhatsApp.
Please look into this, because often my clients are recommending me by sending my website link to potential new customers on WhatsApp.
