@prabhatdutt2 I understand what u are going through, in fact, I was going through the same thing when I searched the WordPress forum and found your question.
this is my site https://freetrialstips.com, google told me the same thing, and I deleted the site from google AdSense, deactivated site kit, re-submit my site to google AdSense, I got a code and then I manually added it to my <head></head>, after adding it manually, I install Site kit back.
I did this the same day (14th Sept) u posted this thread and on the (16th I got approved to use ads).
Here is how to remove your site from google as you requested (first deactivate your site kit);

after removing the site; add the site back immediately, and you will get a code to manually add in between your <head></head> tag.
then reactivate site kit and wait for approval if your site is ready to show ads.

@jamesosborne yes please, Site Kit does the same, but when I opted to use Site Kit and automatically placed my code, they kept redirecting me to complete setup at google, while google redirects me to site kit, so it was an endless circle.
But I didn’t mean deleting the site kit and never use it again. I said, just deactivate it, this way when you reapply your site, google won’t detect the site kit, and they will give u a code with ur pub to manually add it to ur <head></head>.
then you can install Site kit again because obviously, site kit is very important on your WordPress site.
Apparently, this might be from the site kit plugin, because I use it before to connect a client site code automatically, but now I am not sure.
I suggest you guys check it out, because normally, we don’t have to uninstall site kit.

@prabhatdutt2 I faced the same thing but this is what I Did, uninstall Site Kit and manually add this verification code in between your theme <head></head>
<script async src=”https://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/js/adsbygoogle.js?client=ca-pub-123456789″
crossorigin=”anonymous”></script>replace 123456789 with your Pub code.
Delete your site on Google and add it again for fresh review.
