This update caused us, at considerable expense, to roll back our site to a 3-4 day old backup and have off site tech go through site manually and restore/repair the path of problems. I’d wait a bit on this and 2.9 until they are properly tested. Most updates go off without a hitch, this one was major pain.
2.8.5 upgrade stopped our ability to edit anything in our static pages. We can add new ones, but not edit old ones. And most of our plugins completely stopped working. We are restoring 2-3 days prior to the update and staying with previous version. 2.8.5 obviously has some issues.
We did 2.8.5 upgrade yesterday and most of our major plugins stopped working, the important ones.
We are now rolling back to 2-3 days before the update and restoring our entire site from that backup. We could not get anything to work under this new upgrade that was supposed to be minor.
This upgrade has major issues.
