Hi Nateyb and Christine. Thanks to both of you for your advice. I’ve been travelling and hence I have not responded to either of you. Apologies for that.

Let me first reply to Nateyb’s suggestion.

You are right that when I logged on as a non-admin like a Contributor or Subscriber user I am indeed logged in. Hence wordpress takes me to the profile page where I then go to my website.

Because I’m on a localhost environment (using XAMPP – Windows Vista), the only way I can gain access to my test website is to log in. I have no way to test an environment where the user has not logged in but wants to make comment.

Similarly, my reply to Christine’s.

I want to be able to call up my website as a non registered user (in a XAMPP localhost environment) – perhaps in another browser. Is that possible?
