I had to go into my server and upload everything file by file – for the themes and the upgrades! But it is all working now 🙂

Should I have uploaded each individual files in the new wp-includes and wp-admin folders? That is the only other thing I can think of.
Use your FTP client to check the theme’s directories, to see if their file permissions are set to allow your server to read them. You may need to “CHMOD” them to 755 or the like.
I have no idea what this means. I had the bookidea working at one time but was having other problems so deleted it. Now I can’t get it back or use the second one I downloaded.No double folders either 🙂

I am new to WordPress and am having a similar issue. I downloaded 2 themes and put them in the wp-contents/theme folder but they do not show up on my dashboard.
Can I delete files in the ‘classic’ or ‘default’ folders and replace them with the theme I want to use?
