In reply to: [WordPress HTTPS (SSL)] [Plugin: WordPress HTTPS (SSL)] URL too long?Does this happen when the plugin is disabled? What settings do you have enabled? Any more information would be helpful.
Is the resource that it’s complaining about available over HTTPS? If not, it will have to be removed from your secure pages.

In reply to: [WordPress HTTPS (SSL)] [Plugin: WordPress HTTPS (SSL)] Redirect LoopHey Bert,
Are they things you can remove? I think the plugin is strict on certs, so if the cert isn’t valid, it won’t load it over HTTPS. Maybe that’s what it is? Can you give me some specific links. Maybe turn on the debug mode on the plugin?
Thanks,
MikeHey Daedalon,
Well, if I can reproduce the problem, I can work on a fix. I’m certainly not experiencing anything like that on any of my test sites, so if you can let me on your server, I can certainly fix it. That’s generally the only way I can fix these kinds of bugs that only occur for certain people. Sometimes things can’t be fixed, it just depends. This plugin has gotten a lot more complicated than I ever thought it would, haha.
I need FTP or SSH access to a site that is experiencing the issue that I can mess with to try and work on a fix. You can email me at mike@mvied.com.
Thanks,
MikeHey tetoonline,
This option is for viewing the debug output of the plugin. If you enable this option, you can open your console to view exactly what the plugin is doing under the hood.
Thanks,
MikeHey Shagi,
Try enabling WP_DEBUG as well. Without an error or error logs, it’s hard telling what the issue is. It’s definitely a PHP error, though.
Thanks,
MikeHey tettonline,
Yes, in the next version it will be fixed. I don’t really know when that version will be released, though.
Thanks,
MikeHey Shagi,
Also wanted to mention that many people have issues when upgrading in the admin panel. Resetting the plugin by using the constant WPHTTPS_RESET in your wp-config.php may fix it, but I’d like to get an actual bug report of what’s happening.
Thanks,
MikeHey tettonline,
If you look at the actual output, you’ll see why. (Scroll all the way down).
This is not really something I considered when adding the proxy check to the plugin in 3.0. I’ll get a fix in the next version.
Thanks,
MikeDo the links to that page appear to be secure?
Hey Shagi,
That would be great. Only some users are having issues. I’d love to get a bug fix version out quickly.
Thanks,
MikeHey Daedalon,
Saying that his fix is “for another issue” doesn’t really make sense. I didn’t push out a plugin that’s just flat out broken. It’s broken due to something in your configuration that I had no way to test. The only way I can fix it is if you provide more information on what your settings look like, what kind of server configuration you have, etc.
I can’t think of a single line of code in the plugin that would produce this kind of problem. Have you tried deactivating other plugins? It may be worth setting up a new WordPress install in a subfolder and see if you can reproduce the issue. Any information would help greatly.
Settings are on the sidebar because I want it to be easy to find and if I ever add more sections to the plugin, I will actually have a place for them. With popout menus, it’s not as big of a deal as it used to be. I will be making it a configurable setting, though.
I’ll have to test compatibility with Search Autocomplete.
Thanks,
MikeHey Sulaiman,
Thanks for the feedback, I’ll look into the issue with upgrading.
I’ll be sure to make it a setting just for you in the next version. I wanted to put it over there to make it more obvious. π
Thanks,
MikeYou could install wordpress in a subfolder with a different database. π
Hey all,
It’s possible the upgrade process isn’t working correctly. It would be great if those having issues could set up a test site and see if they can reproduce the issues. I never had any problems, or I wouldn’t have pushed up 3.0. The more feedback I get, the faster I’ll get it fixed.
Thanks,
Mike
