Well – I couldn’t find a solution for this plugin conflict, so I replaced iMP Auto Slimbox with “iBox” and the two plugins are working beautifully together.
It’s too bad as iBox doesn’t have the gallery function for more than one image/thumb and it does not automatically insert the “rel” info – but it works with the “Share This” plugin!

Any javascript gurus out there that might know where the conflict is coming from?
The overlay works and the white container appears, but the images and “next,” “previous” and “close” buttons are not there as well as the description text, which you will see if you try clicking on any thumbnail here: http://jesseddy.com/blog/
