Nevermind, got it sorted. It translated the ‘ to fancy quotes, was going over things one more time – but that fix did indeed work, just make sure it’s not converted to the quotes shown above but instead ” and you’ll be set in Elementor.

I realize this is 3 months old, but I just hit the same issue, I put in a dummy index.php into my wp-content & plugin folder to keep folks from snooping, and whammo.

If you have this issue, rename it index.html, most servers are configured to look for that as an index file as well, then the dashboard link will work again to index.php vs. admin.php?page=index.php.

    Hope this helps someone else.

I know this is 3 months old, but I just had the same issue in a fresh copy of WordPress 2.2 – my fix? I tried the above suggestion of adding “, false”, however that was a no go.

    Try this:

As admin goto the User editor, check the Admin account, and bulk update it to Administrator – as odd as it sounds, it fixes it (at least it did for me in 2.2)

It could be your host, but you do have a few items of external content on your main page – amazon stuff galore – that in itself can sometimes lead to slower load times.

I know my site lags a little now and again – high-use on server, but all part of the hosting game usually, and with exploits floating around lately in phpBB/XMLRPC/etc. ya never know what is hitting the server at any given time.

Maybe hit up your host with a trouble ticket, ask if they can provide any explination on their end, maybe they are getting hit hard by attacks – just a thought.

Details details 🙂 Thanks for the roadmap, I’ll post it and email once I get some decent sleep (too many hours awake to think too clearly, I’ll use that as my excuse for the topic).
    Thanks again.
