  • Sounds like your site is glitchy mainly because it’s running on an old PHP version that your hosting controls, not you. The first step is to log into your hosting panel (like cPanel or Plesk) and look for a PHP Version option — if you can, upgrade it to PHP 8.1+; if not, just contact your host’s support and ask them to update PHP for your site. Once that’s done, you should be able to safely update WordPress, plugins, and your theme (always back up first with a tool like UpdraftPlus). This usually fixes Jetpack’s “site unresponsive” warnings, since they’re often caused by old PHP or slow servers. And if your host won’t help, consider moving to a modern host that offers free migration — you can keep your site design but run it on up-to-date software, which will make things much less glitchy without having to hire someone for a full rebuild.

In reply to: WP Menu problem

This happens because of how WordPress handles sub-menus. In the Dashboard → Appearance → Menus, sub-items push the list down, so things keep moving out of sight — and on the front-end, some themes do the same with dropdowns. The simplest fixes are: collapse unused menu items in the dashboard, or use Appearance → Customize → Menus instead (much smoother), and if it’s on the live site, adjust your theme’s menu settings or use a plugin like Max Mega Menu to control how submenus open.
