In reply to: Can't access wp-admin, doesn't work even after reinstallAre we having the same problem? I updated my blog as well and could no longer also access the admin page. Once logged in the header is there alright (the one with the ‘howdy’) but I couldn’t see the rest of the admin page and instead sees a 404 error. I came across one post somewhere where one user tried to login using a “contributor” account and he was able to gain access! I tried it too by adding a contributor account through myphpadmin and was able to gain access. Weird how it only apparently occurs when you try to login as an admin. See if it also would work for you.

Whenever he tried to login using an admin account, he also gets a 404 error, however, when he tried to login using a contributor account, he can see the dashboard perfectly. Tried to do the same and it worked! However, I really need to fix my admin access. Anyone have a good idea what’s going on? Thank you!

the solution to my problem was very easy! haha. i overlooked the index.php file in my subdomain blog’s folder where all the wordpress files were installed. once i deleted that file, everything worked as is. yay!
