I never received a reply on this but now have a new question as well. First though, I am not seeing the usual spot to post a message. I have sifted through posts related to the topic I need help with and coming up empty handed. Usually there is an option to ask q question (start a new thread). I am not seeing that. I would like to delete my unused themes as I have a lot from playing around. Help, please?

I still have a menu glitch to work out but feeling so much happier and satisfied with my blog look. Again thank you!

In reply to: changing text size in nav bar; changing site name header fontYou made my morning. I also gave up on the generic link with blog title and created a header that I like. So you are almost done with me 🙂
I did forget to ask if you know how to restyle the font in the sidebar menu. I played around with that, but it looks like there’s a trio of fonts being used on the site. I like the tab titles, but want the sub menu font to change to match what’s on the top nav. I am looking through the CSS now and will be sure to put into the child theme section if I find it. There is something to be said about learning by doing (and getting frustrated.)

In reply to: changing text size in nav bar; changing site name header fontWell that was easy! I spent HOURS trying to figure that out. You are good kind sir. Now, final question for the moment:
I just read up on child themes… I now see that when 3.8 gets updated, I may lose any changes that I did in the parent CSS… I took SOME notes on where I made changes, but probably not as many as I should have. However, I am sure I can re-do those if the worst happens. In the meantime, what resources do you recommend for someone at my level to learn more about the how and where of CSS. I would love a glossary of sorts as well. Right now I am just googling the heck out of things!
Thank you again.

In reply to: changing text size in nav bar; changing site name header fontWOW, thanks for all this great information. I played around with the existing code where I could tell fonts were for that area of the site (drop down, etc.) but nothing budged. I have been able to do a fair bit of CSS changes, so I think my theme is compatible with that. I am sure that if I spent the extra $45 on the paid theme, I would not have as many frustrations. However, I am concerned that if I upgrade, what I worked for now, will change and I don’t want that.
Do you have any tricks up your sleeve for changing the top link on the homepage? I am going to get a header up there, but for now, I would love a hipper font for the blog name link.
Thank you for all of this; I am not certain where to put all of this code, so if you have a tip, great. If not, I will figure it out. Grazie!

In reply to: changing text size in nav bar; changing site name header fontOK, finally giving up. I tried EVERYTHING.
I also would like to change the font style in the sub menu of the side navigation. I have that fancy type font set up, but don’t know how/where to use it. My site, again, is http://readeatdewwrite.com/
Thanks!

In reply to: CSS code to change color of links in body textHi again WP friends. I did figure out where to put the code, but the color change is only happening in the sidebar, not the main body of text which is my blog posts. I have tried the CSS a couple of ways (went to the tutorial) and still not coming up with how to get into that section of the blog. Grrrrrrrr.
Again the site is http://readeatdewwrite.com/The color of the links that I would like IN the body of the text is the same as the header text: #6a98a0

In reply to: CSS code to change color of links in body textHi “batharoy”- thanks for the reply. I am assuming that I can just change “red” to a different color (and maybe need to use number code?) but, I am still not finding where to change this. The stylesheet isn’t broken up into each category as I am used to (if that even makes sense!) I will do some additional digging, but if you have more insights, I would be indebted.
