yep, did this earlier in the day, clean, but thanks for thinking of it!
can anyone confirm that this is, most likely a database issue? discovered that many pages and posts ended up in trash, no one put them there, ta da (or duh), this is why they are not showing.
Went to restore and get this error:

early thanks, in case someone would like to explain this to me.
no, i have never seen that after my client saw it, i just get a 404 error for the index and random pages throughout the site. all posts seem to work.
i have debug on, have 3 plugins, no errors seen in backend.
thanks for asking and helping!
anyone have any great ideas on this issue that i might try? really, i have searched and searched, asked at other forums, have a ticket open with hosting company (silent), there has got to be something else I can try… i am sounding whiny

it didn’t make any difference. could the database be corrupt? any help is appreciated, i am truly stumped. why some pages come up, some don’t, so weird…
yes, i can, but oddly, in all of my old back up files, this is where it’s always been. i am fairly novice a bit afraid to do it :). but then according to the article http://codex.wordpress.org/Giving_WordPress_Its_Own_Directory, it does seem it’s suppose to go there.
would i take it out of the wp-content folder?

what do you mean by version? It’s 3.2.1. yes, I have other plugins installed. Built on Genesis Framework, Genesis Simple sidebars, simple hooks, simple edits, Artiss YouTube Embed, Dynamic Content Gallery, Fast Secure Contact Form, My Calendar, WP Super Cache, WP-Mail-SMTP, Image Widget.
2- You can disable it using Maven Member -> Settings -> Registration -> Captcha 🙂
Oh duh :). sorry to waste your time with this one! it was a late night.
4- Users. Yes, if you create a user using WP, and then assign a role to it using the plugin, it will ADD it to the user. But It can be a nice feature to add. I added it to the TODO list.
So, I add a user and assign it to a role specified in Maven Members, other than subscriber, it them automatically adds it as a subscriber as well as to the role I originally specified?
5- Removed files. It doesn’t upload any special file in the upload folder. Can you describe what issues did you have here?
When I uninstalled it, there were a few left overs that I needed to go in and delete, which it was not allowing me to via the admin area of wp, when I looked on the server, there were 2 files in the uploads folder. I will have to uninstall again to specify exactly what they were, sorry, I have a few sites I am developing, with different needs, and some details my brain does not retain.

In reply to: I give up, members only area or?hi, this is an existing site that i am taking over. As is, anyone can sign up and access the area, even though they are not suppose to. I am not looking to set up a multi site, just wanting to have one area where “members” can log in to see that portion of it, i am not wanting this for a paid membership. I am not looking to pay, just wondering if someone can recommend a stable plug in to remedy this. There are a few out there, but when i look at this forum under plug ins and hacks, it appears that there are issues with all of them. Guess I am hoping someone can lead to me one that works… with minimum issues!
