Sorry for the delayed reply. I am quite new to WordPress.
Q1. I am not sure what custom CSS you are referring to add?
Q2. Also, where should I add it? Shall I try add it on another page (eg http://sndprecision.com/layouts) or shall I add it to the page described above (ie http://sndprecision.com/sample)?
Q3. Can I just add the CSS code which you specify via Customize>Additional CSS?

Do you know how I can get the database back to it’s default values as when it comes on initial install?

Thanks @amboutwe for your reply. However it was a bit less complicated than that and really I should have updated my post. It took an hour or two and then google had updated my snippet as required:

I deactivated the Maintenance plugin and it solved my problem (which is why you see my website is no longer in maintenance mode).
I don’t have any plugin installed at the moment doing any sort of caching. Is it something I should look into? (apologies for the ignorance – this is my first wordpress website)

Thanks MTN, I’ve just installed “WPS Hide Login” and it works like a charm.
That wasn’t my website, I just made it up. But thank-you for the reminder anyhow 🙂
