Thanks James: the 2 moderators who tried clicking on the “Please Confirm” link that they received, do not have WordPress accounts. I’ll ask Jetpack and see where that leads.
I was looking through some of the other posts, and must have missed the one where one replier said that through Settings -> Reading, one can limit the # of blog posts. This seems to have worked, and it created 5 pages based on a setting of “12 posts”
