Okay, turns out the key for my reCAPTCHA was for my actual site url while the site I’m using it on and testing it on is my sandbox site.
Managed to get some clues on the problem by myself. Apparently, removing reCAPTCHA resolved it. Still figuring out exactly why that is so.

Thanks for taking the time to reply. Yes, I have read both articles from the FAQ you referenced. I’m using an email that actually exists under my domain for all the fields. But I’m still getting the same orange boxed “Failed to Send” no matter what I do to try to make the message less spammy.
I’ve also tried to type longer messages and key in what seems like real-world content in my test message…..still doesn’t work.
