red is because I changed it using a plugin called simple custom css, here is the change:

.header-wrapper #site-navigation,
.top-header-block {
    background: red;
}
.header-wrapper .menu li {
    background: none;
}
.header-wrapper .sub-menu li {
    background: #4c483c;
}

.menu li a:hover {
  background: #ff0000;
}

.menu li li a:hover {
  background:#009900;
}

This way I don’t need to touch the original css

However, this is just a workaround, it still doesn’t fix the true and real cause of this issue, that being said, I still think wordpress could do something to prevent this from happening, as to whether it could be called a “bug”, I don’t know and have no interest now as this issue really cost me too much time.
