In reply to: Manually updated to 6.0 but dash offering 5.1.1Everything seems to have righted itself – I did rename plug in folder to deactivate and then redid the update to 6.0.0. Also it was a plugin offering me the downgrade. Doh!
All updates now gone through. WP is a capricious thing!

Since that communication is broken, WordPress.com does not know about your new posts and cannot send them to your email subscribers.
Could you contact your host, and ask them to check their security logs for blocked POST requests to your site’s /xmlrpc.php file? They will want to make sure that all requests coming from the following IP ranges are whitelisted and never blocked:
