Why did you move the WP installation in the first place? But have you checked all the images path?

I would definetely recommend thumbnails on post. Your blog will look much more completed and the design will look way better!

Mostly I use FTP too, but with my website nettraening.dk i have tried something different ! No use of ftp at all, and it has worked at pretty well, at least in my opinion ! But what do u guys think ?
