In such cases, I would recommend that you use a different signature format to avoid triggering Post By Email’s filtering system. A single – would do the trick, for example.
It wouldn’t be something i could control, Jeremy. The signature would be from the email that I receive.
For example, say I send you a current event, and write, “Please forward this to your constituents. Have them contact me directly for any additional information. Signed, — Mark”, then you forward this to your PostbyEmail address.
Anyway, aside from trying to defend a few particular use cases, it seems allowing a custom “remove anything after this line” would be better than any magic signature block embedded in the code, however common or uncommon that magic signature block is.

In reply to: [Jetpack - WP Security, Backup, Speed, & Growth] Post By Email not workingThanks for the quick response!
So are you saying that the “from” email address has to match something before JetPack will post? I wasn’t able to find anything referencing that in the documentation. If that is what you are describing, it is not often easy for some of the authors to make sure the “from” address matches, since the author might have a forwarded email address as their primary email address.
Yes, there are two cases.
there is a certain embedded image format that seems to have the signature inside the image format. I’ve deleted the specific emails. Next time they come around I’ll forward it.
The second case is a situation where I’m forwarding an email from a provider and i need to identify the provider … That is, i want the signature line from a forwarded email on the post.
I did. It sent fine to all other addresses.
So I’m not sure what all I had to do to get it to work, but I reinstalled from scratch and it works now. Unfortunately I haven’t been able to replicate the error on the reinstalled web site.
