Hi The demo I was working on to see if the Pro version was suitable has expired. Would it be possible to let me know if you have any thoughts on my previous query please.
    Many thanks Mark

    Hi Przemyslaw

Thanks I have been having a look at the demo this afternoon and the only issue I seem to be struggling to achieve is having two types of items in the basket from 2 different classes.

I have 2 classes (Bottles and Accessories). Bottles by the nature of the product can only be shipped locally, accessories can be shipped anywhere. If I add one of each class to the basket and I live outside an area where bottles can be delivered, I can’t find a way to ensure that the bottle cannot be shipped, or at least let the customer know it can’t be shipped so they can remove it from the basket and maybe continue purchasing an accessory.

Adding them individually to the basket is fine and all seems to work nicely, however both types of products at the same time I’m struggling with.

Is this something I can achieve with the plugin?

    Many thanks Mark

    Hi
    Thanks for your help.
I have had a look through what you suggested and I think everything is setup correct.
What I think might be the problem I have is the different types of flexible shipping aren’t in shipping classes.

As an example the BBQ cylinders that can only be delivered locally on our shop work nicely when you choose a postcode (local) they can be delivered in. The problem lies in when the customer is from a postcode outside of this area. It then offers them the delivery from one of the other shipping options. If they are not local they can’t have the product shipped at all.

The reverse of this is also a problem. If a customer selects a lightweight safe to deliver item, yet they are in a local postcode it offers them the local gas bottle delivery service. When really it should offer them just a normal postal service.

I think if the products could be allocated to only certain types of delivery options then the problem wouldn’t exist.

I have seen within editing a product that you can assign a shipping class to a product (I haven’t seen any other shipping options that could help), so you can allocate a product to those. I have also seen within the Flexible Shipping Pro that you can assign shipping classes. Currently I can only see weights and prices as being the factors that effect what options are available to a product.

Do you think this will help solve my problem with these BBQ cylinders that can only be shipping locally?

    Many thanks
    Mark
