In reply to: Auto Blog Feeder problemHello Folks,
I solved the issue of the ‘Auto Blog Feeder’ script…
For both the issues above..The article’s not being fully transferred and the fact that a number of the articles don’t fully load onto the blog..
By a case of deduction I discovered how to overcome the problems..
I just started using the script this week, even though I’ve had it for years, I got lazy and wanted an easy way out.. but had the issues you’re describing here and looked on the Internet using the ‘Free Power Search Tool’ that finds anything to see if anyone had solved it.. Obviously not, so I set about trying to solve them myself as I like to do this..
I first looked at the apostrophe issue.. I had the same problem..
I started looking at the actual problem in minute detail.. at the actual apostrophe itself in these PLR text file articles as pointed out by ‘John’ (Magictouch) above..
So, the actual issue lies mainly in the PLR articles that you have gotten hold of by various means, just like I have… I imagine that they had been originally written in Rich Text format and then copied and pasted into the text (txt) files that are then bundled up bandied about..
I opened an article up and noted something.. I copied one of these apostrophe’s (Difficult to do) and then went to ‘Edit’ in the article’s menu at the top.. I pasted it into the ‘Replace’ >’Find what:’ window and then simply typed an ‘Apostrophe’ into the ‘Replace with:’ window…
And guess what.. they were different..
So, I replaced all the apostrophes in that article and uploaded it to my blog.. and activated it in the script.. the script immediately wrote the full article into my blog… Problem Solved!
Now Then, How do we change hundreds of articles easily..
Simple..
Load all your articles into one folder and use this Simple Search Replace Tool
http://www.rjlsoftware.com/software/utility/search/Here’s what you do..
A) Create a new folder containing all your articles inside ‘Your Documents’ folder so that you can easily navigate to it from within the Simple Search Replace tool..
B) Then open an article and take a copy of an apostrophe to your computer’s clipboard to paste into the Simple Search Replace tool.
C) Paste this apostrophe into the tool’s ‘Find what text:’ window.
Next:
D) Click on the small window adjacent to the ‘Replace with:’ window so that it is opened and activated
D) Simply type a normal apostrophe using your keyboard into the ‘Replace with:’ window..
Then at the top of the software you’ll see a folder Icon so that you can navigate to the folder you made earlier.. find it and HIGHLIGHT it from within this window..
E) Hit the ‘Start’ button..
I found and replaced 97 cases of a bad apostrophe using this tool..
The second issue is articles not uploading etc..
All the articles must be inside a folder, the folder’s name MUST NOT have any spaces between it.. ie weightloss not weight loss AND
each of the articles must also have no spaces, it must have a dash or an underscore between the words.. ie How-To-Lose-Weight or How_to_Lose_WeightI hope that helps you all..
