In reply to: blog on one page – how to separate posts?Maybe I’m not being clear: Ob the Voyage theme it has a built in slider but you have to use posts for it.
Now I want to have a page just for regular blogging and when I designate it a “blog page” the slides show up.
My question is: how do I keep the slider posts separate from any other posts that have yet to be created?
I know I can put them in different categories but how do I keep one category off the blog page (because those posts are being used on the homepage in a slder)?

In reply to: blog on one page – how to separate posts?vlxyzzy I installed the plugin called Simply Exclude but can’t see how it keeps the posts that are the slders off the page that I hope to devote to blogging (and it will only be one page on this site that’s a blog).
Can you help with that? It’s the page called Sandra’s blog…

In reply to: blog on one page – how to separate posts?The site is sandramcteague.com and I have posts but—maybe unfortuneately—one category (slider) is being used on the homepage so I don’t have a static homepage.
I’m really at a loss as to what to do here and appreciate your help…

In reply to: removing sidebars (Voyage theme)This sidebar was on all the pages (except the homepage) before I made the pages full width. (it might have been on the homepage, but I don’t think so…)
My only POSTS are the sliders; the calendar entries (and, yes, it’s a plugin, the all-in-one calendar plugin by Timely…) are EVENTS. There’s no way I can edit a POST and affect what’s happening here.
Sorry…no help yet…

But it’s on the calendar page, and when the event is chosen, the page goes to column size and the sidebar appears.
So, yup, I could use a little more help. But, thanks for trying…

First of all, I set the full-width someplace over on the left, one of the little menus that WP has available and can’t remember where it was set.
I went to the page, found the meta drop-down menu and took the checks out of all the boxes and nothing happened—the sidebar, with its three tabs, is still there.
I do remember that I had a choice when I selected full page, and it wasn’t exactly “full page”; I think it was “full width” or something like that.
If you can tell me how/where I can go back in there and try to set something else up.
