@jeremy I have a WP website using Crazy Domains hosting and jetpack works fine. I have 3 Windows Azure websites and they all fail to connect to WP with the same SSL error.
the site with the issue is http://ladiestrekkingkokoda.azurewebsites.net/
is windows azure hosting the problem?
