If the images in the folder uploads or are they outsourced? The plugin creates a complete archive starting from the root.
Workaround by eventualo is OK.

I’m sorry, but the folder “wp-snapshots” is not delete after deinstallation. Testet with Portable Version and Live-Version.
This is only a workaround, but no solution. LightBox Plus can not be configured (Picture title, etc.).

In den UAM-Einstellungen alle Dateien sperren. Die öffentlichen Dateien sind nun auch gesperrt und müssen in der Mediathek durch Entfernen des Häkchens der Nutzergruppe frei gegeben werden.
Dieser Fall tritt ein, wenn eine bestehende Website mit Dateien (Bilder, PDF usw.) um einen geschlossenen Bereich erweitert wird.Thanks!

I have tested with a fresh WordPress-Installation. The problem is CHOWN.
With this configuration is OK (CHOWN):
Root-Folder: Server
Snapshots-Folder: FTP-User
Plugin-Folder: FTP-User
