FYI, I fixed my problem. Turns out when I altered the permalink format, it fixed the issue.

Thanks for the reply. I do have posts in all of the categories. I made sure of that too.
On the second suggestion….
I am nervous to deactivate the plug-ins because the template requires them and won’t work properly without them. So, I’m not sure what will happen if I disable one (for this, I didn’t install extra plug ins). I don’t want to create some fatal error that would prevent me from getting back into it.
And on the third suggestion…
I do believe that it’s a theme-specific problem as it isn’t an issue when use the default theme. Now, I haven’t switched back to the default theme in a few days. Will it kill any changes I’ve made to the existing theme if I do that again?
I know that might sound like a dumb question, please forgive.
